Helpful Hints for Buford Sink
Before the trip you will need to:
Pick up gear at Deep Six Divers Service, Inc.
Shop hours are 9-6 Mon - Fri, 9-3 Sat, Closed Sunday.
Be sure to know your BC size, wetsuit size, and the amount of weight you will need.
Test all equipment at the shop to ensure it works properly. Check that the auto inflate mechanism works properly and that the tank is full.
Entrance Fee - $3/person Cash Only to the Iron Ranger (pay station)
Each diver will need a license from FWC to dive at this site. Please do the following to obtain your license:

Download the FISH HUNT FL (FWC) App.

Create a log in.

Select “Purchase License”.

Select “Click here to get a license!” button.

Scroll to the bottom of the “Other” tab and you will see Chassahowitzka WMA SCUBA Diving Registration(CDIVE) and select the “+” Button.

Put the date we will be diving in the selection box, then select “Add to Cart” button.

Fill out your emergency contact information sheet then select the “Continue and Keep Shopping” button and it should send you to an Application Status:Approved Page.

They will then send you multiple emails from Go Outdoors Florida. The second email should contain your License. You will need to print this off and have with you in order to dive at the site. You will only need to print the first two pages but they cannot be double sided as you will need to display them both on your dash.
On the trip please:
Plan on being in the parking lot at the latest 15 minutes before your dive time.
There is a single restroom at the initial parking area where we will meet but not at the actual site.
Please be aware the water temperature is 73 degrees year round and plan your exposure suit accordingly.
The access point for the dive site is about a quarter mile walk from where we park. We recommend bringing and using a collapsible cart to transport gear.
Two dive lights are required to dive in Buford Sink.
It is a good idea to bring a tarp to change on, to avoid getting your gear dirty prior to putting it on and taking it off.
