Helpful Hints for the Lake Isis Experience
Before the Dive:
Pick up the gear at Deep Six Divers Service, Inc.
Shop hours are 9-6 Mon-Fri, 9-3 Sat, Closed Sunday.
Be sure to know your B.C. size, wet suit size, and the amount of weight you will need for the dives. Remember, you may have to add extra weight if you are using a full suit. Test all equipment at the shop to ensure it works properly. Check that the auto inflate mechanism works properly and the tank is full.
At the Dive Site:
Be sure to have your equipment assembled and be ready to dive at the assigned time. We recommend that you arrive at least 15 minutes early.
When you arrive at the dive site, go inside the gate and park with the front of the vehicle facing the fence, do not block the gate or other vehicles.
Be respectful of the neighborhood, please be quiet. Don’t slam car doors, shout, or have loud music playing, etc. You are welcome to bring drinks and snacks, but please pick up and dispose of the trash properly.
Do not go on the neighbor’s beaches or in their yards. Stay out of the orange grove across the street. It is private property and is patrolled by the Sheriff’s Agricultural Department.
Sorry, there are no facilities. Please come dressed in your swimsuit and use the restroom prior to arriving.
Bring a tarp or blanket with you, it is helpful to set your gear up on.
You may want to bring a jug of water to wash off your feet, booties, and other gear.
At the end of the dive, make sure you log the dives in your logbook. It is also a good idea to write the sizes of the equipment and the amount of weight on your belt for future reference. Rinse the gear of all sand and debris before returning it to the dive shop. Use the lake if necessary.
This is private property, no pets allowed.
